16th annual jersey cares coat drive

The 16th Annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive will take place from November 1 to December 15, 2011 with the objective of collecting 50,000 gently used winter coats to distribute to men, women, and children in need. Over the past 15 years, Jersey Cares has collected and distributed hundreds of thousands of coats through the efforts of volunteers and partner organizations that host coat drop-offs and distribution sites. Coats are donated, sorted, and delivered to social services to provide warmth for those unable to afford their own winter wear.

- 1. 16th Annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive November 1, 2011-December 15, 2011 About the Coat Drive About the Coat Drive The objective of the 16th Annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive is to collect and distribute 50,000 "gently used" winter coats to at-risk men, women and children. Over the past fifteen years, Jersey Cares has collected, sorted and distributed hundreds of thousands of winter coats to New Jersey residents in need. It takes the hard work of hundreds of individuals and organizations such as Storage King USA to make the Coat Drive successful. Donated coats are collected and bagged for pick-up by companies, churches, police stations, schools and other organizations and individuals leading collection drives. The coats are then dropped off at a Jersey Cares Container Site, located throughout the state. Finally, social service agencies schedule times to pick-up and distribute the coats to those in need.
