Introduction
Realizing the need to upgrade the
existing testing services and facilities
and capacitate its human resources,
RTKC has been set up at CRT/N with
support from Global Alliance for
Clean Cookstoves (GACC) led by
United Nations Foundation (UNF)
 Vision: Self sustaining Regional
Cookstoves Testing and Knowledge
Centre (RTKC), Nepal with fully
equipped and trained staffs to
provide most reliable service to
clients
 Mission: Improve Technology,
communicate performance and
promote sales and adoption of
clean cooking devices
Centre for Rural Technology, Nepal (CRT/N)
Objectives
Enhance Testing Capacity mapping to the International
Standard Organization (ISO), International Workshop
Agreement (IWA) Tiers of Performance
Modify / upgrade stove designs and develop clean
cookstoves technology
Establish effective knowledge dissemination and networking
with other Stove Testing and Knowledge Centers at the
national and regional level
Support to Government of Nepals ambitious mission on
"Clean Cooking Solutions for All by 2017 implemented by
the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC)
Offer testing and monitoring services to organizations at
national and regional level

Testing is done in
compliance with ISO
IWA matrices where
It Is done in three stages
WBT is conducted using
Protocol 4.2.2
1. Hot Start
2. Cold Start
3. Simmering
Repeated three times to
get the closest values
