Animal and plant cells have similar structures but also key differences. Both contain a nucleus, cytoplasm, and plasma membrane, while plant cells also have a cell wall and chloroplasts for photosynthesis. The nucleus controls cell activities, the cytoplasm contains organelles for metabolism, and the plasma membrane protects the cell.
