Asterix is the hero of many adventures from a small village in Gaul that has not been conquered by the Romans. He enjoys fighting when necessary and traveling, although he is small. With a magic potion, he gains superhuman strength. His best friend Obelix is very strong without needing the potion. They go on adventures together along with other villagers like their druid Getafix who makes the potion, and the chief Vitalstatistix.

Hello, kids. My name is Asterix and I¡¯m the hero of a lot of adventures. I am from a very small area in France called Gaul. I am a Gaul.
My village is celebrated as the only part of my country not yet conquered by Julius Caesar and his Roman legions. I am not a violent person but I enjoy a good fight when there's cause. I like travelling very much and I have been to many different places: Egypt, Spain, Germany, Italy, etc.
I am small and thin but when I have the magic potion I have a super-human strength. I have a lot of friends.
Obelix is my inseparable friend He is tall and fat. He is very very strong. He is a menhir delivery - man.
He has a dog called Idefix . His favourite food is wild boar. He likes going on new adventures with me.
Getafix is the venerable village druid. He prepares the magic potion which gives us superhuman strength. He is not young , he is old, but he¡¯s very wise.
One of the most popular persons in the village where I live is Caco- fonix, the bard. He is a musician. . He plays the lyre. Some people in the village like his music but some of them hate it.
Vitalstatistix is also a very popular person in the tribe. He is the chief. He is a fat and hot-tempered person. He isn¡¯t very old. He¡¯s about forty. He likes eating very much but he doesn¡¯t like walking.
In this photo, from left to right, you can see Geriatrix, (he is quite old), Unhygienix (he hates showers and baths), Obelix, Dogmatix (he thinks he is always right), Asterix, Vitalsta- tistix (he¡¯s a positive fellow), Getafix, Fulliautomatix (he loves all types of machines), and Cacofonix.
