Mission and GoalsA Resource to Members, Profession & the Public	The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) National Knowledge Community serves as a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in the research, knowledge dissemination and deployment of computer technology in the practice of architecture. Technology in Architectural Practice monitors the development of computer technology and its impact on architectural practice and the entire building life cycle, including planning, design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.

  • #32: BIM ^education ̄ is presently largely done by software vendors. This is inadequate because it overlooks important topics like interoperability, designing workflows for different types of projects. It also usually doesn¨t address firm managers who make decisions about software and hardware procurement and implementation.
  • #33: Type and depth of BIM knowledge needed depends on whether someone is doing modeling every day, managing a project, interacting with clients or consultants, or making management decisions for the firm. It also depends on the level of the individual¨s interest in BIM and technology in general.Orgs: AGC, ASHRAE, NIST, CSI, etc. Negotiate mutual acceptance of each others¨ courses.
