The National Alliance For Youth Sports selected Ocean City Recreation & Parks to pilot their new "Lets Talk Sports" program, which teaches life skills through sports. The pilot program, directed by Al "Hondo" Handy, allows kids to become "Certified In Youth Sports" and serves as an example for other communities. The program was introduced to several of Ocean City's youth sports leagues in fall 2018. Families who complete the online program surveys will help the program be fully implemented in the future.

In Ocean City the kids also received a Free meal at Buxys Salty Dog Restaurant The Promotional Video was shown We need your help to set the example This is an opportunity to help teach life skills through sports This parent/child activity creates important stimulating discussion We need families to complete the program (series of questions & surveys) Surveys will be reviewed by NAYS Staff If successful the program will be fully implemented in the near future Post Pilot articles were also in the local press Program was introduced at NAYS Congress by Dr. Michael Gray Program changes are in progress
