Marc Abrams of Hometown Telecom is evaluating app vendors and testing mobile apps in their SIP network. He has tested several mobile and desktop softphone apps, including Bria and Acrobits apps. Both the mobile and desktop apps worked well for outbound calling through the SIP network. Acrobits' dial through feature was successful but could be improved. Peer-to-peer video and instant messaging using SIP URI dialing also worked well with good audio and video quality. Next steps include determining desired feature sets and costs with vendors and identifying low hanging fruit to implement.
2. My Current Status
Learning about our network and capabilities!
Learning about our current services!
Evaluating app vendors and testing in our network!
Quickly bottoming out on proposed solutions!
Next step afterwards is to zero in on required features!
After that, then we can assess the cost for each approach!
Then we can start implementing and launching services
