 Evaluating app vendors and testing in our network!
 Quickly bottoming out on proposed solutions!
 Next step afterwards is to zero in on required features!
 After that, then we can assess the cost for each approach!
 Then we can start implementing and launching services
Hometown Telecom SIP Network
 Outbound calling only (no registration required)!
 Optimized for G.729 (5x compression)!
 Can support G.722 wideband (not enabled)!
 No real Caller ID (dont know whos really calling)!
 But supports SIP URI dialing (way to add features)!
 screen names, P2P video, P2P IM, conferencing, etc.

 Both mobile and desktop apps worked well for
outbound calling!
 Acrobits Dial Through feature works well but user
experience can be improved!
 P2P Video and IM works well using SIP URI dialing!
 And audio and video quality are very good
Next Steps
 Determine desired feature sets and costs with vendors!
 Customization is expensive!
 SMS and VCC servers would be interesting!
 Identify some low hanging fruit!
 Create account name/screen names for P2P features!
 Enable G.722 and allow endpoint negotiated codecs
