Our film Obsession would most likely be noted as an independent movie and this is based on it having similar elements of an indie film. Such as strong focus on storyline,amateur camerawork and actors who arent widely recognised by the public. Also, the film is British and by this we understand that our film most likely wouldnt become a blockbuster which therefore eliminates the chances of it being distributed by big conglomerates such as Universal, 20th Century Fox and Paramount. However, it is still possible for our film to receive worldwiderelease as these conglomerates have subsidiary companies which cater to indie films trying to make a breakthrough. Looking at British companies, we believe we have a chance at Working Title distributing our media product. Working title, in connection with NBC Universal conglomerate is the UK's top production company with many big hit movies such as Shaun of the Dead(2004), Johnny English Reborn(2011) and Contraband(2012). Working Title may consider us as its a British production, aimed at a British Audience, however they may be able to help us aim at a wider audience because the themes dealt with in the film such as anger, love, and relationships are universal amongst people. - In terms of branching out for a wider audience, I think ScreenGems and Rainforest Films would also consider distributing our product.

Their most successful film: Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) Their most highest budget film: Underworld: Awakening (2012) Although they are American most of their releases are of horror, thriller, action and urban genre which are linked to our film. With Rainforest films, their products are mainly targeted towards mainly African Americans. As most of our cast were of ethnic minority I feel our product could have a breakthrough by appealing to the audience attracted by this company. Also, our themes and genre explored link with the other products the company distribute. Also, in terms of budget, as an independent film we wouldnt have a high budget as blockbusters such as SkyFall, Twilight and with their use of budget, we wouldnt risk losing out too much if the audience dont receive our movie as expected(or hoped).
