The Ocean Odyssey is a 401 foot long column stabilized drilling unit built in 1988 that is capable of drilling to depths of 30,000 feet in water depths up to 6,000 feet. It has a 185 foot high derrick, three 1,600 horsepower mud pumps, six diesel engines providing main power, and accommodations for 124 people. The rig is equipped with a subsea BOP stack, marine riser, tensioners, and a mooring system with 12-point spreads using anchors and chains.
