In meeting #3 on April 4, 2011, the team discussed redesigning their apparatus to address problems with the previous design and enable new objectives. They agreed to make minor modifications to the base but designed new supports that are cylindrical rather than hexagonal for easier movement in the T-slots. The supports will also have hex nuts to lock them in place and a consistent height. A removable part will be added to the tower to allow buckling tests on longer beams. Two new wooden parts will be made, one with three longitudinal slots for bending tests and one cylindrical and split for buckling tests.
