e-Learning involves digital learning materials including e-books, electronic slides, videos, and hypertext documents that can be accessed online through web-based instruction or offline through CD-ROMs. There are three main types of e-learning: web-based instruction which delivers content through a web browser; interactive web-based instruction which allows two-way interaction; and interactive multimedia web-based instruction which combines multimedia like audio and video with interactivity.
