For each nightmare, it shows how individuals and organizations worked to overcome injustice and create positive change, such as schools helping Native American communities and organizations fighting diseases. It argues that by focusing on possibilities rather than tragedies, and supporting those working for good, the country can overcome its dark past and continue leading the world.

IS 360 - Conceptual Map In America, freedom and opportunity are not a guarantee of all things good and wonderful. Instead, we must all work toward good, toward wonderful. And along the way, we make mistakes. However; For every nightmare, there is a miracle waiting, For every injustice, there is hope of justice, For every disappointment, there is a new beginning, For every mistake, a thousand individuals give everything to make our world a better place.
IS 360 - Conceptual Map For every nightmare, there is a miracle waiting for a chance to appear One very important thing to know is that there are a small handful of very positive people and places on Pine Ridge and that they are making a difference. Red Cloud Indian School is a leader among these positive forces, with 13 Gates scholarship recipients graduating from its school in only two years. For every disappointment, a new beginning is possible Anne Sullivan Macy (1866-1936) was a woman whose brilliance, passion, and tenacity enabled her to overcome a traumatic past. She became a model for others disadvantaged by their physical bodies, as well as by gender or class. Anne was the eldest daughter of poor, illiterate, and unskilled Irish immigrants, born in 1866. IS 360 - Conceptual Map One Person who made a difference Paul Harris - The Founder of Rotary Eradicating Polio from the World At the very first Rotary club meeting Paul Harris, Gustavus Loehr, Hiram Shorey, and Silvester Schiele met in Chicago and talked about their personal experiences. At that meeting on February 23rd, 1905, Harris unfolded his general plan. This was the simple beginning of the worlds first service club, the Rotary Club of Chicago, created because of Harris wish to capture in a professional club the same friendly spirit he had felt in the small towns of his youth.
