How do I make my copied images look sharper and more vivid? (Copy

Temporarily changing the Copy Contrast setting
You can make your copied images look sharper and more vivid by adjusting your Brother
machine's Copy Contrast setting.
To change the Copy Contrast setting for your next copy job, follow these steps:
1) Press the COPY key to illuminate it.
2) Do one of the following:
a. Place the document you want to copy into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) face up,
top edge first.
b. Place the document you want to copy face down on the flat scanner glass.
3) Use the dial pad to enter the number of copies you want to make (up to 99).
4) Press the OPTIONS key.
5) Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Contrast.
6) Do one of the following:
a. Press the UP ARROW key to increase the contrast.

13. Do I need a telephone line to send and receive faxes with my Brother
machine?
You must have a telephone line to send and receive faxes with your Brother
machine. To send and receive faxes, you must connect a telephone cord to
the jack (socket) labeled LINE on your Brother machine.
Can I reduce the size of a received fax to fit the size of the paper in the
Brother machine?
Turning on Auto Reduction will automatically reduce the size of an incoming fax to fit the size
of the paper in your machine. To set Auto Reduction mode ON, follow the instructions listed
below:

1) Press the Menu key on the control panel. Date

14. Can I set my Brother machine to forward the faxes I receive to
another location?
You can use your Brother machine's Fax Forwarding feature to forward the faxes you receive to
another location. When you select Fax Forward, your machine stores the received fax in the
memory. The machine will then dial the fax number you've programmed and forward the fax message.
To set up Fax Forwarding follow the steps listed below:
1) Press Menu.
2) Press the up or down arrow key to select Fax, and press OK.
3) Press the up or down arrow key to select Remote Fax Opt, and press OK.
4) Press the up or down arrow key to select Fwd/Page/Store (Forward/Store), and press OK.
5) Press the up or down arrow key to select Fax Forward.
6) Press OK. Your Brother machine's LCD will ask you to enter the fax number to which faxes will be
forwarded.
7) Enter the fax number you want your faxes to be forwarded to.
You can enter the number using the dial pad (up to 20 digits), a One-Touch key, or by
pressing Search/Speed Dial and entering a three-digit Speed Dial location.

15. Can I confirm that the FAX was sent correctly?
You can use the Transmission Verification Report as confirmation that you sent a fax. This
report lists the name or fax number of the receiving party, the time and date of transmission
and if the transmission was successful.
When the transmission verification report feature is OFF or OFF+IMAGE, the report prints
automatically if an error occurs during transmission. If the report indicates NG, send the
document again. If the report indicates you should check the readability of certain pages,
resend those pages.
To program the different transmission verification report options, complete the following steps:
1) Press the Menu key.
2) Press the Up or Down Arrow key or the dial pad to select Fax and press OK.
3) Press the Up or Down Arrow key or the dial pad to select Report Setting and press OK.
