This science activity aims to teach students about seismic waves through defining them, differentiating the types of seismic waves, and recognizing their importance in studying the Earth's interior. Students will complete an organizer with information about seismic waves and answer questions differentiating surface waves from body waves and which type of waves are most useful to seismologists and why. The activity was adopted from a Grade 10 science textbook to teach about seismic waves.
