The Silicon Valley Cancer Foundation provides cancer information, conducts research, and assists women's health concerns with a focus on breast cancer. They strive for early breast cancer detection and prevention through research and new therapies. Their breast cancer program emphasizes that early detection is key but most difficult in women under 50 due to more aggressive cancers and dense breast tissue making mammograms only 50-70% effective. The Foundation promotes the non-invasive Halo Breast Test to help address these issues.

1. Mission Statement:
quot; The Silicon Valley Cancer Foundation is established for the purpose of
cancer research and providing education about cancer.
We provide information about solutions that are now available for cancer,
as well as information about cancer prevention, and we work to help
decrease the growing epidemic of cancer in the United States.quot;
Our Foundation provides general
information about cancer, its incidence
according to gender, type of cancer,
information about cancer prevention, and any
known causes. Our team is working on ways
to find cancer early or precancerous
conditions. Our goal is to do further research
to prevent precancerous states from turning
into cancer, such as breast cancer. We are
also supporting new advanced cancer treatments for breast cancer, and can also
provide information about where cancer is being treated.
One of our cancer prevention and healing programs includes information about
health. We are very concerned about foods that heal and foods that harm, and
especially information about nutrition and cancer. We will provide this information
through the internet, presentations to schools in different communities, newsletters
and other resources. We will also pass out information in the form of brochures or
literature about cancer, health, and preventative health measures. In certain
locations, we will ask for donations for these services. In schools, this service will be
provided at no charge.
The Board of Directors and the Advisory Board of the Silicon Valley Cancer
Foundation are helping to make a difference with cancer awareness and support for
new research for non harmful diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Our Foundation
has a team of experts and publicly known figures to help in this endeavor. We all
have had loved ones and friends who have been affected by cancer.

2. Silicon Valley Cancer Foundation Programs
Breast Wellness and Breast Cancer Program
The Silicon Valley Cancer Foundation strives to
provide information, conduct research, and assist
women with health concerns. Our special interest
is early breast cancer recognition, and research
for therapy, and breast cancer prevention.
EARLY BREAST CANCER RECOGNITION IS
NEEDED.
There is clear evidence that breast cancer has two large subgroups based on age. In
younger patients the disease is more aggressive and difficult to treat. The mortality in
this group is significantly higher than in the older age group. Early detection is still key
for improving survival, but unfortunately early diagnosis is most difficult for those under
50 years of age.
THE HIGHEST DEATH RATE OF BREAST CANCER OCCURS IN YOUNG WOMEN.
This is due to the higher incidence of the more aggressive cancers. Younger women
tend to have denser tissue because their bodies are still producing lots of hormones
which stimulate breast tissue growth.
In this dense breast group, mammograms used for breast cancer diagnosis are only
50% sensitive to cancer. With newer digital mammography, which is not used very
much except in a few diagnostic centers, the sensitivity only reaches up to 70%. This
means that one third to one half of all women will fail to have their breast cancer
diagnosed early using traditional approaches.
Because so many women have dense breasts, cancer is hard to find.
These are some of the reasons that death rates from breast cancer have changed very
little over the past decades, while the incidence of breast cancer increases every year
worldwide.
The Halo Breast Test is the only non-invasive available screening test of its kind that is
non invasive. For more information, please go to www.BreastTest.org.
