Sensitized to OAM Activists ( Odisha Adivasi Manch) On mother tongue based
multilingual ECE- demo Centres

campaign- at Grass Root Level & at State Level

Secretary of Odisha & giving memorandum for promotion of MTMLECE in tribal
areas of Odisha

14. GOAL OF THE CAMPAIGN :
To implement quality Mother Tongue based Multilingual Early
Childhood Education in all existing ICDS centers and all tribal hamlets of
Odisha irrespective of number of children.
Objectives :
Implementation quality Mother Tongue Based Multilingual Early
Childhood Education in all the tribal languages of the state.
Advocacy for increase in investment for AWC especially on ECE, health
and nutrition
Appointment of an additional AWW specifically to take care of MTMLE in
the existing AWCs,
To upgrade mini ICDS to main ICDS centers.
To ensure safe drinking water and sanitation at each ICDS centre.
To ensure safe and child friendly ICDS centre building.
To ensure New Arunima in all ICDS center with adequate trg to AWWs.
Advocacy at Palli Sabha/ GP / PS / ZP / state level on implementation of
quality MTBMLECE in all tribal habitations.
To sensitize parents and caregivers on the importance of mother tongue
based multilingual early childhood education.

Identification of AWCs monolingual in nature which are left out(apart from
6681) . Implementation in rest 13319 AWCs in tribal areas of Odisha
Demand to incorporate those AWCs in the Govt list.
Rectification of mistakes in New Arunima
Printing of New Arunima in Ho, Sora Sompeng and Kuvi scripts
Training of AWWs
Continue mobillising infrastructure like new building, repair of existing
building, toilets, boundary wall, safe drinking water, enough work books and
T&L materials, etc.
Demand for an additional language knowing tribal AWC specifically for
MTMLE
