  • 4. The red background turns to a blue one when Stanley Kubricks (the director) name comes up. Blue could suggest calmness, tranquillity and serenity after the dangerous red.
  • 5. The credits then go back to red. This makes the audience feel once more the danger and unease of what they felt before the blue background. This shows that Kubrick can play with your mind before the film has even started. You are introduced to Alex in the opening shot. It is a close up of his face. He is wearing a top hat and a white shirt with dungarees. Below his left eye is what appears to be fake eye lashes. His whole appearance seems unnerving, which could suggest that the film will include thins out of the ordinary.Opening Sequence
