Structure stands on one hundred reinforced cement concrete pillars with supporting walls Orientation of the square-shaped building is east-west diagonally, allowing adequate sunlight in the reading areas. Foundation stone of this library building was laid in 1958 Two main Reading Halls facing the Shivalik Hills afford a panoramic view of the natural surroundings Sun breakers at the northern fa?ade, and the five projected balconies symmetrically one above the other at the south fa?ade.
P.N. Mehra Botanical Garden ? The botany department in the Panjab University have established a botanical garden in Chandigarh and named it after their founder Mr. P N Mehra. ? Spread over 16 acres of land. ? There are many sections in this garden such as water garden, cactus-house, fern-House, orchid-House, two green houses, one glass house, tropical plant house etc. ?
