is Sagrada Familia, an unfinished Cathedral building in Barcelona
city. His major works include Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, Sagrada
Familia, Casa Vicens, Park Guell, Colonia Guell and Palau Guell.

Sagrada Familia
• The top notch tourist attraction in Barcelona is Sagrada Familia,
unfinished church by Antoni Gaudi. Antoni Gaudi was believer of
Roman Catholicism and he has built many catholic church during his
life. His greatest work was Sagrada Familia, unfinished church, listed
as UNESCO World Heritage Site. The building construction was started
in 1852 and the work continues until the death of Antoni Gaudi in
1926. Later during Spanish civil war some part of the building was
destroyed and in 1980 the building construction was resumed. The
project is estimated to be complete in 2026.

Park Guell
• Architecture of Park Guell was also designed by Antoni Gaudi and the
park is titled as UNESCO Heritage Site and Spanish property of
Cultural interest. In the entrance of the park lies two building
architected by Antoni Gaudi. There are fountains and bird nests in
the park and stone walkways. Park also receive thousands of visitors
every year.

Casa Mila
• Casa Mila is also the work of Antoni Gaudi. It is the last work by the
artist. The building is designed in Catalan modernism. During Spanish
civil war some part of the building was destroyed; restoration work
was started in 1987 by the architect Joseph Emilio and Rafael Mila.
The building is now a great tourist spot.

Gothic Quarter
• Gothic Quarter is historic quarter in the center of old city near La
Rambla street. Many building of the quarter were built during
medieval times and some building have their history dates to the
times of Romans in Spain. The historical quarter is visited by
thousands of tourists every year.

Montjuic
• Montjuic is a hill in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The hill is translated
as “Jew Mountain”. Montjuic is also famous for being selected for
some venues of 1992 Olympics in Spain. Also located on the Montjuic
is the national art museum of Catalonia and below the museum lies
the “magic fountain”. On the site of the fountain was recorded music
for many films such as Lords of the ring, The godfather, and Gladiator.
Also many famous musicians have performed at the site of fountains
such as Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe.

Museo Picasso
• Museo Picasso or Picasso museum featured large collection of works
by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. The museum has a collection of 4249
works by Pablo Picasso. The museum is located at la Ribera medieval
town in the Bank district of Barcelona. The two major works at display
are “The first communion” and “Science and Charity”.

National Art museum
• Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) is the national museum
of Catalonia in Barcelona city. The museum has large collection of
Romanesque art, modern and contemporary art.

La Rambla

La Rambla is a famous historic street and tourist center in Barcelona.
The La Rambla Street connect the Christopher Columbus Monument
at Port Vell to Placa de Catalunya. It forms a boundary between the
Barri gothic quarter to the east and El Raval to the west. The street is
decorated at both sides by a line of beautiful trees that goes all along
to the end with the street. At the southern end of the street is the
monument of Christopher Columbus and the old Barcelona Port. The
monument was built for commemoration of the great adventures of
Christopher Columbus

Museum of Contemporary art
• The museum is located at El Raval district of the city. The museum
was officially opened to the public in November 28, 1995. The
American architect Richard Meier & Partners design the architecture
of the building and the work was started in 1987 until 1995 when it
was completed and opened to the public.

Botanical Gardens
• Jardi Botanic de Barcelona is the botanical garden located Montjuic
hill. Garden houses a large collection of Fauna brought from different
areas of the world with Mediterranean climate. Flora species are
collected from Australia, Chile, California, South Africa and Canary
Islands.
