We learn about five sins that rob us off the purposes of God. We also discover the powerful spiritual significance of the Lord's table. And we learn what God teaches us about food offered to idols.
The Noahic Covenant established God's promise to Noah and his descendants after the Great Flood that destroyed the earth. God saw that mankind had become wicked and decided to flood the earth, but spared Noah, his family, and two of every kind of animal by having them enter the ark. The flood lasted over a year before the waters receded. God established the Noahic Covenant, promising to never destroy the earth with a flood again and set the rainbow as the sign of this covenant. The covenant also reaffirmed man's authority over the earth and prohibited the eating of meat with blood in it. It was an unconditional covenant that God made with Noah and all living creatures.
The document discusses the importance of humility and prayer for leaders. It states that leaders must empty themselves to make room for God, remain close to God in prayer, and use humility as their most important tool. Leaders are called by God and must guide others toward God while staying humble and recognizing their own imperfections.
Understanding Apostolic Covering and Prophetic StreamsButch Yulo
油
This document discusses the biblical concepts of apostolic covering and prophetic streams. It begins by reviewing that prophets are needed from the Old Testament through the New Testament. The objectives are to understand God's structure for the church, the roles of apostles and prophets, and prophetic streams. It cites Joel 2:28 and 1 Corinthians 14 to show that God will pour out His Spirit and people will prophesy. It then explores how God designed order and structure for the church through spiritual gifts. Apostles are mentioned as the foundational gift and prophets are also included. The document asserts that apostles and prophets are still active today based on Ephesians 4 and the ascension gifts of Christ. It provides biblical evidence
This document outlines the training and techniques required for effective soul-winning and evangelism. It discusses the spiritual, biblical, and practical training a soul-winner needs, including developing motivation from a concern for souls. It also describes different approaches to taking including gentle, conversational, and literature approaches. The soul-winner should analyze the spiritual state of the person and determine if they are superficial, skeptical, or serious about their sin. The appeal should aim to win the mind, heart, and will by satisfying the mind with the need for salvation, stirring the heart that salvation is possible, and strengthening the will to be saved. The key is sharing the gospel through the Holy Spirit and trusting God with the results.
The early church grew rapidly through small group meetings in homes. With thousands of new believers, it was not practical for the 12 apostles to pastor all people alone. Following the biblical model of cell groups, small group meetings provided fellowship, teaching, meals, and prayer support. Implementing cell groups in modern churches can foster relationships, provide pastoral care, develop leaders, and promote church growth through evangelism.
Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, teaching his disciples eight descriptions of blessed people and their corresponding blessings. The descriptions include the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, peacemakers, and those persecuted for righteousness. Each group is promised rewards including the kingdom of heaven, comfort, inheriting the earth, being filled, obtaining mercy, seeing God, being called sons of God, and a great reward in heaven. The document provides commentary on each description and blessing.
New teastament giving v.tithing, master, ppt, 5 22-14 Paul Hansen
油
This document discusses tithing and giving in the New Testament compared to the Old Testament. It makes the following key points:
1. The New Testament does not command tithing for the church as the Old Testament did for Israel under Mosaic law. While giving is encouraged, it is not specified as a percentage or amount.
2. Extra-biblical teachings on tithing as a command go beyond what is clearly taught in scripture. Tithing applied specifically to agricultural produce in Israel, not all forms of income.
3. Following only what is clearly taught in scripture ensures obedience to God, while traditions and interpretations by men can lead to error if not grounded in the Bible.
This document discusses the nature and types of sin, including actual and original sin. It defines actual sin as any willful thought, desire, word, action or omission forbidden by God's law. Actual sins are further divided into mortal and venial sins. Mortal sin is a serious violation of God's law that deprives the soul of sanctifying grace, while venial sin is a less serious offense. The document outlines what makes a sin mortal or venial and how each type of sin harms us. It also discusses occasions of sin and how to avoid sinning through prayer, sacraments and resisting temptation.
This document discusses Philippians 4:13 and what it means to be able to do all things through Christ. It explains that with Christ's strengthening, believers can do God's will as long as the task is helpful, not forbidden, and done through faith and patience. Some things Christians cannot do include acts against God's commands or outside of His purposes. The will of God and unselfish service through Christ enable believers to accomplish great things.
The document discusses Noah's life and work in changing his corrupt age by building the ark according to God's instructions. It says Noah found grace in God's sight and walked with God by faith. Building the ark typifies building up Christ in our experience and the corporate Christ. Following Noah's example, we can work out our own salvation from today's evil generation and help usher in a new age by building the church. Baptism signifies being saved from judgment and separated from the old life into a resurrection life.
This document discusses the power of confession and making the right confessions. It explains that confession is affirming what we believe from scripture and that Christianity is called "the Great Confession." The key points are:
1) We are to confess what God has done for us through redemption, what He has done in us, what we are to the Father, and what God can do through us.
2) Wrong confessions include confessing defeat, failure, Satan's power over us, or our doubts and weaknesses. These glorify the devil and destroy faith.
3) The right confessions affirm our perfection and healing through Christ's redemptive work, that we are new creations with God
The document discusses the patterns of anointing in the Old and New Testaments. It describes how in the Old Testament, priests, kings, prophets and sacred objects were anointed with oil containing specific herbs and spices commanded by God. This separated them for special service. In the New Testament, Jesus and Christians received the Holy Spirit's anointing for power, understanding and witness. The document examines the biblical Hebrew and Greek words used for anointing and their meanings and significance.
Dr. Pothana's sermon discusses Jesus seeing the spiritual harvest as plentiful but lacking laborers. The sermon examines Jesus healing and teaching crowds, having compassion because people were like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus tells disciples the harvest is plentiful but laborers few, so they should pray for more workers. The sermon explores Jesus giving the apostles authority to heal and cast out demons, and their initial mission to the lost sheep of Israel. It emphasizes seeing the spiritual harvest as Jesus did, with compassion.
Christian character is defined as Christlikeness, with love being its supreme manifestation. It is developed as the Holy Spirit produces spiritual fruit within believers like love, joy, peace, and more. Christian character is cultivated by maintaining fellowship with God through prayer and spending time in his word, as well as fellowship with other believers through church community and encouragement.

The document discusses the book of Hebrews. It notes that Hebrews heavily references the Old Testament and does not reference the Apocrypha. While traditionally attributed to Paul, many scholars now question Pauline authorship based on differences in writing style and references. The author was clearly knowledgeable about Jewish practices and Greek. The book was likely written before 70 AD. It was addressed to Jewish Christians struggling with returning to Judaism. The overarching theme is the superiority of Christ over the Old Testament system.
The document discusses the Watchtower doctrine regarding the 144,000. It states that the Watchtower teaches that only 144,000 humans will go to heaven to rule as kings, based on a misunderstanding of Revelation chapters 7 and 14. Most Jehovah's Witnesses believe they will live forever on earth rather than go to heaven. It also explains differences between the lists of the 12 tribes of Israel mentioned in the Bible and those mentioned as being sealed in Revelation 7.

The document summarizes Jesus' condemnation of the scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 23. Over multiple sentences, Jesus calls them hypocrites and pronounces "woes" against them for several offenses, including shutting people out of the kingdom of heaven, imposing heavy religious burdens on others but not following them themselves, and focusing on trivial religious observances but neglecting weightier matters like justice and mercy.
The document provides an overview of the prophetic books of the Old Testament. It discusses that the prophetic period covers around 400 years leading up to and including the destruction of Jerusalem. There are 17 prophetic books written by 16 prophets. The prophets received messages from God to warn Israel of coming judgment for sins and to provide hope of restoration. Their messages were relevant to their own times but also looked ahead to the coming of the Messiah. The prophets served as God's spokesmen to instruct the people in following God's law.
The document discusses five truths from John 15:16 that are important to remember in order to bear fruit: 1) know who you are in Christ, 2) please God not people, 3) know your life purpose is to love God and others, 4) focus is important, and 5) find help and strength from God.

This document discusses spiritual gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12. It notes that all abilities and talents are gifts from God. It outlines four periods in history when God performed miracles through prophets to authenticate their message. While some gifts like prophecy and healing occurred in the early church, the document argues that miraculous gifts have ceased and the church should rely on Scripture alone rather than seeking signs and wonders. It also discusses the "gift of tongues" mentioned in 1 Corinthians and contends that modern displays of tongues do not align with the biblical purpose and guidelines.

Acetabular fractures are serious orthopedic injuries that occur when the femoral head is driven through the acetabulum, sometimes resulting in hip dislocation. They require rapid treatment and often surgery due to difficult access and proximity to blood vessels and nerves. Patients typically experience intense pain, swelling, deformity, and limited range of motion. While traction and immobilization are initial treatments, most patients need open reduction and internal fixation surgery to precisely realign the bones and prevent long-term issues. Major post-operative concerns include blood clots, infections, and avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Extensive physical therapy focuses on range of motion, strength, and mobility exercises to aid recovery.
