EDUCATION
Candidate, Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering
Specializing in Flight Performance & Propulsion
Delft University of Technology
Aug 11 Apr 14
(Anticipated)
Delft, The Netherlands
Courses Followed Aero Engine Technology, Heat Transfer Problems in Gas Turbines, Aircraft Performance
Optimization, Aircraft Noise & Emissions, Advanced Aircraft Design (Civil & Combat), Advanced Design
Methods, Rotorcraft Mechanics & Design, Thermal Rocket Propulsion, Aircraft Aerodynamics.
Thesis in collaboration with Shell Global Solutions; Health & Performance Monitoring Using Active Magnetic
Bearings (AMB) by observing changes in the dynamic behaviour of a rotor to monitor and predict incipient
faults in machines.
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
P. A. College of Engineering affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University
Sep 06 May 10
Mangalore, India
Graduated among the top 5 in class First Class with Distinction (76.4%).
Thesis Work under the guidance of Dr. S. A. Khan, Ex-Principal, P. A. College of Engineering, on Estimation of
Supersonic/Hypersonic Stability Derivatives of Wedges and Ogives At Large Incidence (198/200).
EXPERIENCE
Graduation Project SmartConnect (Remote Monitoring)
Projects & Technology Rotating Equipment, Shell Technology Center Bangalore
Feb 13 Present
Bangalore, India
Gained technical, operational and monitoring insight into Active Magnetic Bearing technology.
Failure mode analysis and linking data deviation with possible failure modes.
Currently building an AMB model to validate the data deviation failure mode relations.
Writing an AMB specification and selection report with comparison to journal bearings for a third-party client
to aid them in the selection of right bearing for their application.
Assisted in the remote monitoring of a booster compressor start-up that supplies 100 MMSCFD of oil to the
domestic Russian market. Captured second stage operating close to surge region and the event was flagged to
the operators on site who took corrective action to bring it into normal operating range. A trip would have
resulted in 6 hour downtime leading to a loss of 100000 USD.
Internship SmartConnect (Remote Monitoring)
Projects & Technology Rotating Equipment, Shell Global Solution
July 12 Jan 13
Rijswijk, The Netherlands
To add remote monitoring capabilities to the in-house developed Compressor Anti-Surge Control (CASC) method.
Programmed the CASC methodology in VB.NET and built a user interface in VBA both learnt on the job.
Integrated the CASC code with existing remote monitoring program codes.
Information extraction from machines and generating input files for the remote monitoring module.
The module is currently deployed on the remote monitoring website and is in operation.
