Ace Your Interview: Dress for Success

- 4. A lot has changed over the years, but one thing remains constant…
- 5. You should ALWAYS dress appropriately for a job interview
- 6. You only get one chance to make a first impression So make it count!
- 7. Whether you are over-dressed or under-dressed the employer might think you don’t care enough to dress appropriately
- 8. Do Your Research! Call the company to inquire about their dress code, and plan your outfit accordingly
- 9. Dress one step up from the job for which you’re interviewing
- 10. Be sure to have at least two outfits In case you get a second interview
- 11. Make sure your clothes fit You want to be comfortable both sitting and standing
- 13. Remove Cover Visible Piercings Visible Tattoos (conservative piercings for women are fine)
- 16. You don’t want to start vibrating in an interview
- 17. Shoes should be polished with no scuffs and a tasteful heel height
- 19. Watch your BREATH! Make sure to freshen your breath before the interview and don’t have anything in your mouth during the interview
- 20. Avoid Body Odor
- 21. Avoid Body Odor *but, again, don’t over-do it on the cologne *
- 22. Arrive at least 15 minutes early and take time to double-check your appearance
- 23. It’s easy to dress so your attire is the only message the interviewer hears
- 24. But it is your objective to dress conservatively as a way to let YOUR message shine through
- 25. and to affirm the contributions you can make to the company
