Language of 24 hour time

When we are reading 24 hour time in
whole hours we think of the place value
system.
Example: 02:00 is two
hundred hours
11:00 is eleven
hundred hours
What about times with
hours and minutes?

If 06:00 is six hundred hours
How is 06:30 pronounced?
What about 14:25?
~ make a prediction with your travel partner and
write it down.
24 hour times with
hours and minutes
~ First name the o¡¯clock time then include the
minutes.
06:30 = thirty minutes past six hundred hours
= six thirty hours
14:25 = twenty-five minutes past fourteen
hundred hours
= fourteen twenty-five hours
