Archerfish are found throughout Australia and have no known predators. They catch prey such as insects and vegetables by shooting a precise stream of water to knock them into the water from overhanging vegetation, then eating what falls into the water. Archerfish populations are stable as they have developed a unique hunting method of shooting water to catch food with no natural threats.
