The document proposes adapting Kendrick Lamar's album "Good Kid M.A.A.D City" into a two-part documentary series. The series would tell the story depicted in the album through a documentary style, following Lamar's rise as an artist and depicting his experiences growing up in Compton, California. The target audience would be youth who could relate to the themes, as well as older audiences interested in youth betterment. The documentary would have an urban setting and utilize mise-en-scene to represent the album through a laid-back, musical documentary style.
2. Good Youth
M.A.A.D City
For my choice of adaptation I chose to
Adapt a two part documentary based upon
The likes of the platinum selling album
Good Kid M.A.A.D City.
The documentary will be story told as a
Documentary, for returning fan.
4. Theme- Urban Documentary
Genre- Drama/Documentary
Narrative
The narrative conception for the album based documentary will be split into a two
part documentary. Based upon the likes of rising artist Kendrick Lamar, the
documentary will be based upon on his second debut album Good Kid M.A.A.D City
originally based upon life growing up in the Suburbs of Compton in America, my two
part series will counterpart some of these themes described in the Album.
6. Due to the fact that this is a school project I will not have to depend off a real life
budget.

8. Core
My audience is split between core and non-core audiences. The main core
audience in my segmentation is youths mainly as a majority of youths experience
these problems and can relate to them.
Secondary
The other audience I may start to gather interest from, will be considerably older
but still could be interested in youth betterment organization.
10. Urban documentary setting
Mise-en-scene representation through the album
Look and feel of a chilled laid back music doc
Wide Audience segmentation
Murky and dark lighting
