This document provides procedures for adding rational expressions with like denominators and different denominators. For like denominators, add the numerators and keep the common denominator. For different denominators, find the least common denominator (LCD), write each expression with this denominator, add the numerators, and keep the LCD as the final denominator. Examples of each procedure are provided.
