PROFILE
I am a teacher who has worked in the teaching profession for over years with a wide range of teaching
experiences such as: working with children and adults with special educational needs;differentage groups from
primaryto further education and have worked within the education system of England and Sweden.
My general interestin Teaching stems from myexperiences working with children and adults with special
educational needs,as well as my enthusiasm for my subject: sociology. I find both point me in a positive
direction of always taking into account students individual needs.
In terms of teaching style, I recognise the importance ofusing a variety of teaching styles:studentcentric, more
conventional lecturer-led classes and multi-media forms of presentation. Notonly does this keep the process of
teaching and learning interesting, butit enables learning to be transparent, clearlystating the aims ofthe
particular lesson.
Having worked as a supplyteaching I have learntthe importance ofbringing enthusiasm back into the student's
work, a task which can at times be challenging, particularlywhen a class have been withouta specialised teacher
for some time. This has evolved, not simplyadapting teaching methods to the particular needs, but also helping
students relate their studies to their own life experiences, hence making itmore interesting and re levantto their
everyday life.
