August 2017 1.0 Background. The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (Responsible Party), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is implementing Inclusive Green Growth for Poverty Reduction Project (IGGPR). The project aims at providing technical, technological, operational and financial support towards the natural resource management, livelihood improvement and green jobs creation. One of the key deliverables of the project is the provision of grants to groups and/or individuals who have ideas for initiating and /or are undertaking innovation projects. The National Guidelines and Manual for Innovation Fund for Green Jobs spells out a systematic process of selection of the beneficiary. 2.0 Objectives. The main Programme objective is to support vulnerable groups to establish innovation projects in Natural Resource Management, Livelihoods and Green job creation for enhanced productivity and income generation. One of the specific objectives is to enhance financial inclusion of vulnerable groups through provision of grants and other financial services for effective management of natural resources and job creation. 3.0 Available Funds The grants will be accessed by either four groups and/or individuals with either already existing innovative projects or have planned to start one. Each Applicant is expected to access not more than UGX.10million.
4.0 Submission of the Applications and Deadline. Those who are interested in the funds for innovation projects are requested to download the request for proposal, Application Form and Business Plan Form from the Ministry website: www.mglsd.go.ug or obtain a hard copy from the Inclusive Green Growth for Poverty Reduction Project Office at level 4, Simbamanyo building, George street. The Deadline for submission is 5th September 2017 All applications are to be delivered to the address below; The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development P.O.BOX 7136, KAMPALA.
