Agata Ruiz de la Prada is a famous Spanish fashion designer known for her daring and colorful designs. She was born in Madrid in 1960 and studied at the Barcelona School of Arts and Fashion Techniques. Her breakthrough came in the 1980s with collections presented in Madrid art galleries. She was born in Madrid in 1960, her father is the architect Manuel Ruiz de la Prada and her mother a Catalan aristocrat. She studied at the Barcelona School of Arts and Fashion Techniques. Her designs first captured attention at the start of the 1980s, in the midst of the "movida madrile?a" countercultural movement, in the Local Design Centre and in various well-known art galleries of the moment. In the 1990s, her collections were presented at fashion shows in Osaka, Paris and Miami. Since then her national and international fame has grown constantly. Awards The Spain-US Chamber of Commerce¡¯s New Yorkers Award CFDA International Designer Awards The ¡°Aleroa?il¡± Cultural Society¡¯s Gredos Award Fashion Ambassador Award Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts Award for dedication to fashion
