Jesus and the disciples traveled to the Garden of Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives outside of Jerusalem after their Passover meal. Jesus took Peter, James, and John further into the garden while telling them to wait. He prayed alone three times, asking God to take away his impending suffering but submitting to God's will. During his prayers, Jesus sweated blood from the emotional anguish. When he returned from his third prayer, he told the disciples that Judas was coming to betray him.

In the GardenIn the Garden The disciples stayed at the entrance gate Jesus, Peter, John, and James the Greater went further Jesus told the three to wait while he went further to pray
First PrayerFirst Prayer Jesus prays to the Father that this cup will pass from him He expresses his hesitation to go through with the mission He returns after an hour Wakes the three and yells at them for falling asleep The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak
Second PrayerSecond Prayer Returns to pray a second time Same prayer as before Returns and finds the disciples asleep again Goes back to pray without waking the disciples
Thirds PrayerThirds Prayer Details of the prayer unknown At some point he agrees to submit to the Fathers will Sweating blood happens here Upon return he wakes the disciples Points out that the betrayer is coming
