The document is a birthday message from an older sibling to their younger brother Aidan, who is turning 11. It reminisces on their childhood together, including bringing Aidan home from the hospital as a 10 pound baby, playing games like scavenger hunts together, and having fun adventures in their backyard like creating whirlpools in an impromptu pool. Though they used to fight sometimes, the sibling couldn't imagine life without Aidan and calls him the best little brother anyone could ask for.
3. 11 years ago today mom and
pop brought you home
from the hospital. You were
a ten pound baby!
4. I¡¯d have to say, I
remember being very
unhappy about you
coming home. I was
scared I would be
forgotten.
5. I also remember that when
we were brainstorming
names I wanted to name
you Dill, like from Rugrats.
6. I remember all the good times
Brother, you, and I have had.
Remember when you had your
power wheels? You would drive
around the yard chasing us.
Pretending to hit us with that big,
goofy looking truck.
7. Remember the ¡°Mega-flood¡±
we had? We all went
swimming in our backyard,
without a pool! Oh!
Remember when we DID have
a pool, we made whirlpools all
the time and floated around in
them.
8. Remember when brother used
to baby-sit us, and to make us
happy he would play games
with us?
10. Brother was an old landlord who
drove a car with a really big wheel,
he would come for rent so we had to
run to the coin jar from our ¡°couch
houses¡± and if he caught us off our
couch he would chase us with that
really big wheel. That was scary!
11. We also had all those scavenger hunts and
treasure hunts? Most of the time the
¡°treasure¡± was just a spoon hidden in the
microwave. :b
12. It was the best of times, it was
the worst of times, it was the
age of wisdom, it was the age
of foolishness.
13. It was the age of belief, it was the
age of incredulity, it was the
season of Light, it was the season
of Darkness.
14. It was the spring of hope, it was
the winter of despair, we had
everything before us, we had
nothing before us.
15. We were always so mean to
each other, always thinking we
could live with out the other,
16. But as I watch you grow up and
begin to come of age I couldn¡¯t
imagine life without you.
17. You¡¯re the best little brother anyone could ask
for.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AIDAN!!!
18. We all love you, Aidan. And so do many people,
never forget that.
