Editor's Notes
#2: Today going to look ¨C again ¨C to the future of SCRL. Board have met and had several discussions about this ¨C resulted in the proposal to be discussed today. We have focussed on more clearly defining the aims and objectives of SCRL ¨C as shown on the slide. Overall aim ¨C proposed - work toward zero waste in communities in Shropshire Current aims ¨C to minimize waste in shropshire and surrounding areas And to maximise the use of resources ...including materials, people and energy Current aims quite broad and general ¨C but may reflect the aims of its members. Proposed ¨C not to change this as such but to unpick it and make it something meaningful and identifiable, to which we can attach clear activities. is what we are going to explore this morning. Proposed aims focus on all three aspects of limiting waste to landfill ¨C recycling, reuse and reduction. They look at increasing access to information and changing attitudes ¨C quite challenging! As we go through this morning we need to agree ¨C or not ¨C if these better reflect the purpose of SCRL ¨C and if not what they should be. Not have a full discussion now, but are there any commments/questions before we move on. Can I just take a quick straw poll of who supports the proposed change - or not? Now Katy, Jean and Ali are going to introduce some case examples of results being achieved through community action. Following that you will have a chance to contribute your own ideas.
