Hardik Sharma's thesis presentation compares the life cycle of a butterfly to the functioning of an airport terminal building. Both are core parts of their respective cycles. The concept of the cocoon is used to design the new international airport terminal building in Navi Mumbai with a diagrid structural system. The presentation includes the existing and proposed site plans, arrival and departure level plans, section drawings and renderings of the new terminal building. The terminal building is designed with the passenger experience and flow in mind from entry and check-in to shops, lounges and boarding gates.
