The Alachua County Humane Society is seeking donations for a new building construction project and to support animal welfare. Donors can give monetary donations, supplies, or volunteer time. Donating helps provide care for animals and supports the construction of a new facility.
There are several ways to donate including: monetary donations which can be in the form of cash, check or credit card (in person at the adoption center or online at alachuahumane.org) you can also become a member and make monthly monetary donations. A fun way to make a monetary donation is to shop in the thrift store. You can buy anything from pet food and supplies to clothing and household items. you can donate supplies such as food, leashes and collars, hand sanitizer, paper towels. You can donate items to the thrift store such as clothes, linens, furniture and other household and pet items. You can donate your time by volunteering at the adoption center walking the dogs or at the thrift store aiding in donation drop offs and cleaning.
On NW 6th Street near 39th ave. Thrift store has already move and animals should be arriving around mid-November. This new facility may allow the humane society to stop euthanizations in Alachua county entirely.
The ACHS rescues animals from the alachua county animal services euthanization list. These animals are treated for any diseases and vaccinated once theyre arrive. They are then adopted out to a new loving home.
