COURSES These courses are based on May pre-enrollment & requests from districts. Courses with small numbers of students enrolled may not make the cut. Tuition reduction (NOT SCHOLARSHIPS) is on a first come, first served basis, with small, rural HS preferences. These courses are rigorous. REGISTRATION Electronic Each principal & superintendent will have their unique id & password Enrollment (by school or district only) Enter just Ak Student ID# and the form will fill in (thanks, DEED) ASSESSMENT Pre-assesssment for each student will be sent to each school to be administered Must be proctored by a certified teacher If the assessment has technical problems due to slow internet connection, the online course will probably not work for school this first round It will be important that students don¡¯t fail or lose their activities eligibility ORIENTATION FOR ON-SITE STUDENT SUPERVISOR All parties must sign Enrollment Agreement AKLN Staff will coordinate with on-site student supervisor to receive training Assuming students meet the pre-assessment criteria, they will be enrolled. Access will be given to the course Not necessary to be highly qualified or certified, but must have full support of building administrator Building administrator may need to be involved, from time to time ENROLLMENT - ORIENTATION FOR STUDENT AKLN Staff will coordinate with on-site student supervisor & student to receive introduction to the online course Students¡¯ part of the Enrollment Agreement lines out expectations AKLN online instructor will deliver course & recommend grade Site administrator or designee enters grade COMMUNICATIONS It is expected that regular communications will be 2-ways, between student & teacher; and between on-site student supervisor & teacher On-site student supervisor and student have weekly communication with parents BILLING AKLN will invoice districts for total students enrolled, less any tuition reductions
