The Royal Palaces of Seville are the most important civil building in the city surrounded by walls from the early 10th century. They can be visited upon payment of an entry fee, though admission is free for residents, students, and pensioners who can access the palaces through the Lion Gate from 10:30am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday and 10am to 1pm Sundays and holidays, closed on Mondays.
