This document profiles AmeriCorps members in Maine and discusses their demographics, backgrounds, and experiences with the program. It finds that AmeriCorps attracts many out-of-state and well-educated volunteers, and encourages some to remain in Maine after their service ends. The program also helps ease recent college graduates' transition to the working world.
