- 2. CAMERA SHOTS The opening shot is an extreme close- up. This has the effect of showing and exaggerates the emotion of the artist. A long shot; this shot is used again throughout the video. This shot is of the camera attached to the chain with the shot of the wrecking ball crashing through the wall, this creates a dramatic statement.
- 3. CAMERA SHOTS This mid-shot of the artist sat on the prop, like all other shots in the video, is fixed camera. This close up shot is an odd clip and doesn’t fit in with the actual song. It seems overtly sexual as the song lyrics are about an emotional break up.
- 4. COSTUME Of what little costumes there are in the video, they both seem to tell the audience that she doesn’t care about what people think of her or in general. The boots may suggest that she is tough and her bright red lipstick suggests hurt or danger.
- 5. PROPS The sledge hammer suggests destruction, and the fact that she kisses it may indicate that she likes it. The wrecking ball is used to knock down a wall, this may meant to be her emotional wall that has been knocked down. She also straddles the wrecking ball in a sexual pose.
- 6. LIGHTING The lighting in this shot shows a low-key background behind the walls and high-key lighting on the artist. The dark background may represent the bad feelings she may have. Moreover, in this shot later on in the video, the walls have been knocked down and more high-key lighting is shown. This may be representing a light at the end of the tunnel. The lighting in this shot is high-key with a white background suggesting innocence.
