School stuff Born on Nov 25, 1983 to 3 brothers and 2 shocked parents (especially my 43-year-old mother). As a menopause baby, was destined to become special or special. Still dont know which one I turned out to be. Had no honors at all when I graduated from St. Paul College, Pasig except for the loyalty award, which is kind of like the This Is Just So You Dont Feel Like Graduation Was A Waste Of Time Watching Others Get Awards award. With a degree in BA English Studies - Creative Writing (Fiction) from the University of the Philippines, Diliman . Finished one semester ahead of my 2005 class ( 2004 ) because I was (and still am) truly a geek and took summer classes every year. Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 1.4 GWA that didnt include grades for P.E. ( thank you Lord ). Was chosen as the Gawad Chancellor Most Outstanding Undergraduate Student awardee in 2003. Childs Play Writing influences? Nick Joaquin, Bienvenido Santos, plus a huge dose of romance novel goodness and a bit of chick lit (though I dont know where that came fromIve only read 1 chick lit book ever) And pop culture!
did a short stint as an Editorial Assistant in Manila Bulletins About Weddings section (2004) - Wrote articles and features for the Manila Bulletins wedding section Contributed articles to Wedding Essentials magazine, a wedding magazine published by the Manila Bulletins sister company, Sesame Seed Inc. Interviewed Claudine Barrettos wedding planner who basically lied through her straight white teeth about the Barretto-Santiago wedding details. At least I got a free dinner out of that shindig. After graduation, I... finished one semester as a law student in UP Diliman (2005) Already paid the tuition for second sem when I finally accepted that my heart wasnt into it. Or maybe my heart just couldnt take the daily dose of terror. did time as an Account Executive at DDB Philippines (April 2006 to Feb 2007) Handled the Family Marketing platform of McDonalds for 1 year. jumped the AE ship and became a copywriter (Feb 2007 to present) Currently writing for Johnson & Johnson (Neutrogena and Clean & Clear), Pepsi (Tropicana, Gatorade, Sting Energy Drink, Propel Active Water), Unilever (Lipton), Smart and McDonalds. Who was I in a past life? Probably a bartender, a gold-hearted madam at a brothel, or a mother babboon
