Andrey Arshavin is a Russian footballer who played as a midfielder. He began playing football at age 7 and was enrolled in the football school "Smena" by his mother. He made his professional debut for Zenit St. Petersburg in 2000. With Zenit, Arshavin won several domestic titles and the UEFA Cup in 2008. He played for Arsenal from 2009-2012, scoring his first goal against Blackburn and netting 4 goals against Liverpool. Arshavin also represented the Russian national team, earning over 50 caps and captaining them at Euro 2008 where they won bronze.
