Keith Andrew Bounds has over 20 years of experience as an educator, teaching history at the high school and college levels. Work Experience
Adjunct Professor of History, Tougaloo College, Jackson, Mississippi,
2009 present.
My teaching experience includes courses titled (1) The Civil War
and Reconstruction, which focused upon the causes of the American
Civil War and the leading personalities in both the North and the South
that led to that conflict, as well as the causes and results of the federal
governments Reconstruction Policy; (2) African-American History to
1865, which course examined the institution of slavery and the
abolitionist movement; (3) World Civilization to 1500, a survey
beginning with Aristotle, Plato, and the beginnings of the Greek
concept of democracy, with a particularly nuanced examination of how
Roman civilization and government presaged the Dark Ages in Europe
and the fragmentation of social and economic classes in Europe and
elsewhere; and (4) World Civilization from 1500 to the Twenty-First
Century. This offering provided an analysis of the growth of
governmental institutions and the Church and their influence upon the
Enlightenment brought about by Voltaire, Hume, Locke, Spinoza and
others.
2. Adjunct Professor of History, Hinds Community College, Raymond,
Mississippi, and Holmes Community College, Ridgeland, Mississippi
campus, 2005-2008.
Taught Western Civilization I and II, as well as World Civilization I
and II. These topics included an introduction to the major civilizations
of the world, including the Babylonian, Egyptian, Persian, Greek and
Roman empires, and the role a code of laws and a growing identity of
nationality and societal norms had in forging international boundaries.

My executive position entails extensive work addressing and
solving consumer problems and assisting our customers obtain better
satisfaction with respect to Books-A-Millions corporate products. I also
am responsible for inventory control, assuring the timely and efficient
stocking of books and magazines in our main store in Jackson,
maintaining the stores weekly records and transmitting them to
corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, and ordering new
inventory, as required by customer purchases and their expressed
interests.
