Mama King suffers an emotional breakdown after a visit from Ben Le Cage. She refuses to eat and rips up her dress. The matron becomes annoyed with Mama King's request for extra food and punishes her by removing her false teeth. However, Miss Mason helps Mama King by returning her teeth and stealing money from the matron to give to her. Mama King also remembers the deaths of her grandchildren and past offers of charity, as she is informed that her grandson Markey will soon visit since his ship is in port.

- 2.  Mama king suffers an emotional breakdown after Ben Le Cage’s visit.  She refuses to eat and rips up her dark blue dress her daughters recently sent her.  Matron is now annoyed by mama King’s request for two sausages one for her and one for Danny  Matron voices her displeasure with this behaviour by immediately removing Mama King’s false teeth as punishment.

He wants to inform Mama king that Miss Ginchi has left for a short while to help care for Dolly May, who has given birth and that her grandson Markey who is a sailor in the American Navy is coming to see her soon since has his ship is port in Trinidad
