PROFILE A M Naik Born in Endhal, Gujarat He graduated with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering In 1999, he became CEO and Managing Director of L&T. In 2003, he was appointed as Chairman of Larsen & Toubro Limited.
PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES Education, medicine and skills training are the three main objectives of my personal philanthropy. So it is for the company as well says Naik Based on his quote, his philanthropic activities can be represent using following diagram(fig 1.1)
PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES EDUCATION HEALTH CARE SKILLS TRAINING (Fig 1.1)
EDUCATION Naik founded the Kharel Education Society in Gujarat which provides free education to underprevileged children, including girls Naik is also involving in setting up of educational instituitions and providing monetary assistance to such concerns
HEALTH CARE Naik formed Nirali Medical Trust for providing quality medical services to the poor at affordable price Under Naik, L&T organises HIV/AIDS awareness programmes for migrant workers regularly. He is also a member of Board of Trustees of the Indian Business Trust for HIV/AIDS
SKILL TRAINING Under the leadership of Naik, the Naik Charitable Trust was formed for providing training, imparting skills and provides employment to poor people who are capable. According to Naik, skill training is somewhat of a life transforming experience giving youth self-belief and helping them win back the confidence of the very society that had considered them misfits.
