Wildlife conservation aims to protect ecosystems and environments to safeguard animals. Rapid human population growth and development endanger wildlife habitats. Threats to wildlife include habitat loss, invasive species, climate change, pollution, hunting, and poaching. India has established many protected areas like national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and biosphere reserves to protect endangered species such as tigers, rhinoceros, lions, and elephants. The Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 regulates wildlife trade and protection. Despite conservation efforts, many wild populations continue declining due to lack of enforcement and increasing human impacts.
