The Texas outbreak has slowed down, but sporadic cases continue to emerge in Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
Elsewhere in the US, we continue to see signs of acceleration due to outbreaks outside the Southwest (North Dakota, Montana, and Colorado) and travel-related cases. Measles exposures due to travel are expected to pose a significant challenge throughout the summer.
The U.S. is on track to exceed its 30-year high for measles cases (1,274) within the next two weeks.
Here is the latest update:

New Mexico: 81 (83% of cases are from Lea County).
Oklahoma: 20 (+2)
Kansas: 74 (+5) (38.89% of the cases are from Gray County).

Texas: 96 (+2) This accounts for 13% of all cases in Texas.
New Mexico: 7 This accounts for 9.47% of all cases in New Mexico.

- 1. Dear Mother, Faiqah left you a message. She asked me to tell you that she will be home late from school as she has an extra class until 10p.m. She actually forgot to tell you yesterday. She has already packed her clothes and going to take bath at school. She also asked you to send her food to school at 7pm as there will be no food provided. She told you not to worry about her. Thats all from Faiqah. Love, Rania (82 words) Question 1 Last week, Susan entered a singing competition at school. She was very nervous as it was her first time. There were many other talented students took part in the competition. The judges sat in front of the stage at the school hall. There were also other students there to give them support and encouragement. Susan was proud of her singing performance. She did her very best. When the competition ended, Susan was announced as the winner. She received a trophy. Susan and other contestants took some photographs of their sweet moments together. (92 words)
- 2. Question 2 My school organized the annual sports day last Saturday. Everyone was excited as it was an event of the year. All students from four sport houses were prepared for the sports day. Each sport houses were given a tent. The students decorated their tent with colourful balloons. Ahmad took part in the 200m race. The other students from his sport house cheered and clapped their hands as he ran to the finishing line. Ahmad won the first prize. He defeated the other contestants. The headmaster passed out the medal to all winners. He was proud of himself.
