In Soviet Russia, chicken eat you!The biggest chicken’s breed in the world. The live weight of hens is 5-7 kg, of females – 3,5 – 4,5 kg. These chickens produce 120-130 eggs per year. The weight of eggs is the biggest in the world among the hens – up to 90 grams.
Why they almost dissapearedOut of the 33 farms who had these chickens, only 1 of these farms had chickens with different strands of DNA. In other words it was not a diverse enough species to last, even domestically. Until Dr. Steven Weingard researched, studied and then spread out that group to increase its diversity, the population was at a standstill.
