About Anglia 3 campuses etc.
Anglia Ruskin University was awarded university status in 1992. Today, with a student population of over 32,000, we are one of the largest universities in the East of England, and a major provider of part-time education.
Our students are on courses leading to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as to a range of professional qualifications. We are one of the most significant suppliers of nurses and teachers to the professions and offer an ever expanding range of contemporary courses.
Our main campuses at Cambridge and Chelmsford attract students not only from the East of England and across the UK, but in increasing numbers from mainland Europe and from further afield.
Who we are and what were talking about today
Not particularly ground breaking
Attended ARU open day as a student BALLOONS!
Student Union tours
Choice quotes from student ambassadors this is the library.it goes all the way up there! *points up*
One member of staff working solely to offer scheduled tours / out of date information / not exciting etc etc
Literature review not much
Opendays.com visited other unis
Recommendation one aligning ourselves with University open days
Example of balloons/banners
Recommendation 2 collaborating and making contacts
Survey monkey
Survey monkey responses: questions we asked and some of the answers we got
Numbers from our open days mention lack of figure taking from before, and that it had just been university-wide figures rather than individual departments this seemed silly, we should be keeping our own figures, and this is something we have made recommendations to continue, and to count in a consistent way
Cake? Cant remember why?
Future developments!
Future tings bribe them with free stuff? Table myself and a colleague put together at the last open day on 26th April this turned out to be very popular
Facts and figures more factual information to present to potential students, but also more data collecting in the future to evaluate etc.
Challenges cross-site Chelmsford and Cambridge are very different campuses with different student populations and different spaces. There are some things that are possible in cam (ending tours at library) which are just not possible at chelmsford due to logisitcs.
