King Arthur is a legendary British leader who, according to medieval histories and romances, led the defense of Britain against Saxon invaders in the late 5th and early 6th centuries AD. He assembled a group of knights known as the Knights of the Round Table and may have known the wizard Merlin. His sword was named Excalibur and his kingdom was based in Camelot.
