Finding a specific car online can be a time-consuming task, especially when checking multiple dealer websites. A few years ago, I faced this exact problem while searching for a particular vehicle in New Zealand. The local classified platform, Trade Me (similar to eBay), wasn’t yielding any results, so I expanded my search to second-hand dealer sites—only to realise that periodically checking each one was going to be tedious. That’s when I noticed something interesting: many of these websites used the same platform to manage their inventories. Recognising this, I reverse-engineered the platform’s structure and built an FME workspace that automated the search process for me. By integrating API calls and setting up periodic checks, I received real-time email alerts when matching cars were listed. In this presentation, I’ll walk through how I used FME to save hours of manual searching by creating a custom car-finding automation system. While FME can’t buy a car for you—yet—it can certainly help you find the one you’re after!

3. 3 INTRODUCTION W hat is A I? AI is the ability of a machine to display human-like capabilities such as reasoning, learning, planning and creativity. It allows technical systems to perceive their surroundings, solve problems and act in response to a specific goal. AI analyse previous actions and working autonomously, AI systems can adapt their behaviour. 3

5. Reduction in Human Error  Reduce human errors but increasing accuracy and precision.  If properly programmed, errors can be eliminated. Zero Risks  Avoiding risks by delegating them to AI robots.  AI can provide accurate work with responsibilities and survive in challenging situations. Ongoing Availability  AI can work indefinitely without rest.  Think faster than humans whilst completing tasks at once with high accuracy. 5

6. Digital Assistance  Provides digital assistance, eliminating the human personnel.  Have conversation with AI regarding any search. New Inventions  AI drives force behind innovations that will assist humans in some challenging issues.  Enabled doctors to detect breast cancer at an earlier stage. Unbiased Decisions  AI is emotionless, practical and rational.  No biased views, resulting more accurate decision- making. 6

8. High Costs  Difficult to create a machine to stimulate human intelligence.  Requires recent hardware and software, which is quite expensive. No Creativity  AI cannot think outside of the box.  AI can learn over time with pre-fed data but cannot be creative. Unemployment  AI is increasing unemployment for humans.  Replace human resources in manufacturing businesses. 8

9. Making Human Lazy  Repetitive Tasks are automated by AI applications.  We use our brain less since we don’t need to memorise. Emotionless  Machines does not have feelings.  Human connections cannot be replaced by computers. No Improvement  It has pre-loaded data and experience whilst it can repeat the same tasks.  It can’t function the same as human intelligence, yet it can store indefinite data. 9
