How does your media product
represent particular social groups?
Looking at stereotypes
of indie band
members
I chose Pete Doherty as a stereotype because he is seen to be cool to younger people,
because of his drug use and is seen to be the typical ‘bad boy’. This makes people see
him as their idol, as he isn’t your typical, boring band member, he has a sense of
personality.
I chose Brandon Flowers as a stereotype because he is an indie band member, however
he is also an idol. He’s seen to be good and good looking, there aren’t many pictures of
him looking a mess, which shows he has self respect and doesn’t like going out and
making himself look like an idiot.
